This half-day, in-person course provides essential training in tissue viability and wound care, focusing on the prevention, assessment, and effective management of wounds. Designed for healthcare professionals, the course equips participants with practical knowledge and skills to promote healing, prevent complications, and deliver high-quality wound care.
Participants will:
Understand the core principles of tissue viability and the physiological factors affecting wound healing
Learn to assess and classify different wound types, including:
Pressure ulcers
Diabetic foot ulcers
Surgical wounds
Gain insight into various wound care products and their appropriate applications
Develop safe techniques for cleaning, dressing, and managing wounds to support optimal recovery
Understand the role of infection prevention and control in wound care
Learn effective strategies for managing chronic or non-healing wounds
Enhance communication skills for educating and involving patients in their wound care plans

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Tissue Viability and Wound Care Management Certificate, valid for 2 years.
