This half-day, in-person course provides healthcare professionals with the essential knowledge and practical strategies to effectively support individuals living with Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS)—a rare and complex genetic condition. The course covers behavioural, medical, and nutritional challenges to ensure safe, person-centred care.
Understand the genetic and physiological basis of Prader-Willi Syndrome
Recognise key characteristics of PWS, including hyperphagia, hypotonia, and developmental delays
Explore strategies for managing appetite, diet, and weight control in individuals with PWS
Learn about behavioural issues associated with PWS and effective support techniques
Understand common medical complications of PWS and their management
Appreciate the value of a multidisciplinary approach, involving dietitians, therapists, and caregivers
Develop skills in delivering holistic, person-centred care for individuals with PWS
