This half-day, in-person course provides healthcare professionals with essential training in Immediate Life Support (ILS). It focuses on the rapid recognition and response to life-threatening medical emergencies, enhancing clinical confidence and improving patient outcomes during critical incidents.
Participants will:
Understand the core principles of ILS, including early recognition of critical illness and deterioration
Learn to assess and manage cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, severe shock, and other life-threatening conditions
Gain hands-on skills in CPR and use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
Develop techniques for managing airway, breathing, and circulation (ABC) during emergencies
Understand how to work as an effective member of a resuscitation team
Learn about post-resuscitation care and the safe transfer of care to advanced life support teams
Build confidence in communication and leadership under pressure
This course is suitable for:
Registered Nurses
Paramedics
Medical and clinical support staff
Any healthcare professional expected to respond to medical emergencies
Duration: Half Day (½ day)
Mode: In-person training only
Assessment: Scenario-based practicals and written evaluation
Participants will receive an Immediate Life Support (ILS) Certificate, valid for 1 year.
