This half-day, in-person course is designed to provide healthcare professionals with the knowledge and practical skills needed to effectively support individuals living with epilepsy. The course covers seizure recognition, emergency response, and long-term care strategies, enabling participants to deliver safe, informed, and compassionate support.
By the end of this course, participants will:
Understand the different types of epilepsy and seizure disorders
Identify common causes and triggers of seizures
Learn to recognise the signs of various seizure types
Gain knowledge of treatment options, including anti-epileptic medications and lifestyle adjustments
Develop skills to manage seizures and provide immediate care during an episode
Understand the importance of patient and caregiver education in preventing and managing seizures
Learn strategies for creating a safe and supportive environment for people with epilepsy
Explore the psychological and emotional impact of epilepsy on individuals and their families
